Our Legacy

Founded in 1960 in Waterbury, Connecticut, by Herman and Lillian Sanditz, the company quickly earned a reputation for excellence. A pivotal moment in our early years came when Scovill, Inc., under the leadership of Malcolm Baldridge, selected Sanditz as its official travel provider. Mr. Baldridge, later U.S. Secretary of Commerce, was a champion of quality management. His legacy lives on through the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, a standard that continues to inspire our own commitment to service quality.

Following Mr. Sanditz’s passing, Lillian led the company until 1985, when it was acquired by North American Bank & Trust. In 1989, Henry Wrotniak, alongside then-partner Joseph Biancanelli, purchased the company. By 1991, Mr. Wrotniak became the sole owner—and continues to lead Sanditz Travel today with vision, experience, and an unwavering dedication to excellence.

A Timeline of Milestones

Our growth is a testament to our adaptability, client loyalty, and strong leadership. Notable acquisitions and achievements include:

  • 1991 – Opened Bristol office; acquired G. Fox/Connecticut Vacation Center (West Hartford)
  • 1995–1996 – Acquired Stone/Coughlin Travel, All Points Travel, Travel House, Woodbridge Travel, and Sea-Aira Travel
  • 1998–1999 – Acquired Farmington Valley Travel and Kops Monahan Travel; became an American Express Representative Office
  • 2000–2007 – Rapid expansion through acquisitions including Travel Innovations, Globe Travel, Crestwood Travel, Goshen Premier Travel, Carroll Travel (Springfield, MA), Gandolfo Travel, and Pearson Travel (East Providence, RI)
  • 2004 – Honored with the American Express Excellence Award
  • 2023 – Acquired Travel Odyssey, continuing our mission of growth and excellence
